BlackBerry OS is a proprietary mobile operating system developed by BlackBerry Ltd (ex - Research in Motion) for its BlackBerry line of smartphone and tablet handheld devices. The last version is OS10. The mobiles running on OS10 are currently Blackberry Z10 and BlackBerry Q10. OS4 to 7 are still running (mostly with model Curve, Bold and Torch), though 0S 4 is slowly disappearing.
BlackBerry had a lot of success with corporation but has now troubles adapting to the competition of Apple and Android. In Q1 2013, Blackberry was overtaken by Windows Mobile and is in 2013 down to 1.9% market share (-2.6pp).
BlackBerry World, the application store for Blackberry, contains more than 130,000 applications, which makes it still competitive with Windows Phone.
